Government plan to boost Electric car usage in England

It is clear that the Government have been trying to push the United Kingdom into Electric cars. But recently they have awarded four areas to £40 million funding to help with the move to alternatively fueled vehicles. Other 'benefits' to having an Electric car is Free parking spaces for plug-in's, streetlight charging points and now even access to bus lanes are set to be introduced. Transport secretary Patrick McLaughlin said the councils wanting to get involved have shown "exciting innovative ideas" for electric vehicles.

These councils involved are Nottinghamshire, Derby, Milton Keynes, Bristol and London who will share the money that's been put aside. However the Tax Payers Alliance has criticized the changes stating that the grants are a 'Vanity Project' and only a small group of people will benefit from the changes. But as shown in our previous blog, the consumer advice service Which? has proven that not all vehicles are as clean as promised by manufacturer.
