Tesla Model S P110D reveal, Lamborghini Centenario Roadster & Land Rover Jaguar Rockar Store
Tesla reveal the all new Model S P100D at a mind tingling rumoured price of £114,200. This new model accelerates from 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds. That is quicker than the McLaren F1! Tesla Founder Elon Musk said "there are only 2 cars faster to 60mph and those are the LaFerrari & Porsche 918 Spyder. It can beat a McLaren F1 - that's nuts!". As always with Tesla, Elon is keeping this car very exclusive. In the beginning of production only a small number will be built and then possibly a small capacity increase if it shows signs of success. "The production volume initially is quite low because of the challenge in producing it: making sure it’s effective and safe," he explains. Also the new Model X P100D manages the 0-60mph sprint in 2.9 seconds with a range of 337 miles, which is also impressive.
Now onto Lamborghini and the brands latest limited edition model. This week we see the 759bhp Centenario Roadster which has been limited to just 20 cars. But unfortunately you cannot reserve your vehicle as they are already sold out! Oh and did we mention the £1.75million price tag? The Centenario Roadster features styling from the Aventador, but in typical Lambo style, it has been taken to the Extreme! With a 6.5-Litre V12 that kicks out 759bhp means that the car manages 0-60mph in just 2.9 seconds thanks to the four wheel drive system. Its top speed is a mighty 217mph but the most impressive part about this car has to be its looks.
Our next top story is a brave potential move by Land Rover Jaguar. The popular manufacturer is rumoured to be the next car brand to introduce a Rockar store to Westfield Stratford City. Following the £1billion investment to the company and its existing 201 retailers, Jaguar Land Rover have decided on a new tactic and view on Sales. They have followed the Hyundai leap of faith and have decided to open a Rockar store in October. An experience without car sales staff, letting customers digitally choose their car in store, similar to an online shopping experience. Will this be the end to Showroom selling and the Car Salesman?
